The cold and chilling weather in China marks the excellent time to harvest the freshest, sweetest and most tender oysters from the seawater in Putian. As such, now you can enjoy these air-flown Putian oysters in PUTIEN Gurney Paragon during "Putien Oyster Festival". The adept chefs in PUTIEN has came out with 6 different ways to serve these oysters, allowing you to experience this delicacy:
a) Pan-fried Rice Vermicelli with Oyster
b) Fried Oyster in Fujian Style
c) Seaweed with Crispy Oyster
d) Traditional Oyster Soup
e) Seaweed Oyster with Fried Egg
f) Seasoned Fresh Oyster
Thanks to PUTIEN Malaysia for hosting us
Pan-fried Rice Vermicelli with Oyster (RM 36.90) |
Our favourite among all the oysters dishes are Pan-fried Rice Vermicelli with Oyster (RM 36.90). Before the arrival of this dish, their rice vermicelli with a certain degree of moisture and texture has been our favourite. Combining the oysters with the rice vermicelli and a simple pan fried procedure produced a superior combination of crispy omelette with a subtle aroma from oysters.
To further enjoy this dish, douse some signature Putien chili sauce into this dish to introduce a slight tanginess and spiciness.
Fried Oyster in Fujian Style (RM 29.90) |
If you are the person who feel like enjoy pure oysters flavour, then Seasoned Fresh Oyster (RM 36.90) is the ideal choice. Another option is Fried Oyster in Fujian Style (RM 29.90), which felt like popcorn with oyster filling. Every bite of the oyster offers a crisp texture and this dish serves well as an appetizer.
Seaweed with Crispy Oysters (RM 36.90) |
Seaweed Oyster with Fried Eggs (RM 29.90)
|
For those who prefer a localized flavour of oyster dish, you may try Seaweed with Crispy Oyster (RM 36.90) or Seaweed Oyster with Fried Eggs (RM 29.90). Although it looks like Oh Chien aka fried oysters to Penangites, it tasted more like scramble egg texture with distinctive seaweed and oysters taste.
Both dishes come with a generous quantity of oysters to fulfill your cravings of oysters. No worries to share this dish among 3-4 people.
Traditional Oyster Soup (RM 36.90) |
The Traditional Oyster Soup (RM 36.90) is a reflection of Hokkien cuisine. If you are a Hokkien, you can imagine Bak Kee Soup (Pork Pottage Soup) which the pork is substituted with fresh oysters. In this way, you can savour the delicacy of fresh oysters with a slight briny taste.
Ice Nanri Abalone (RM 32.90) |
Drunken Squid |
Putien Century Egg (RM 12.90) |
Stir-fried Green Dragon Vegetable (RM 21.90) |
Of course, there are many highly recommended dishes in PUTIEN. Among them are Ice Naari Abalone (RM 32.90), Drunken Squid, Putien Century Egg (RM 12.90) and Stir-fried Green Dragon Vegetables (RM 21.90).
Our favourite are Ice Naari Abalone which come with succulent and fresh abalone flesh and Putien Century Egg, which does not taste like century egg at all! First times we had such an unique yet taste food.
Putien Cabbage Rice (RM 20.90) |
Chilled Putien Loquat in Herbal Jelly (RM 8.90) |
This times we had privilege to try Chilled Putien Loquat in Herbal Jelly (RM 8.90). Personally, we liked its refreshing taste with a hint of herby flavour.
On top of that, we also tried a few juices this round, namely Berry Cubes (RM 10.90), Soursop Juice (RM 9.90) and Infusion by Mr. Qu (RM 9.90). Without surprises, these juices are excellent in taste and soothing.
