Eastern and Oriental (E&O) Hotel has officially announced the re-opening of its Heritage Wing after an extensive refurbishment exercise which began in March 2019!
The refurbishment sees the heritage wing maintaining its historical grandeur and continued its legacy as the only seafront hotel in the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site, while guests are able to enjoy greater experience in both hospitality and food segments.
Grand Ballroom
The new Grand Ballroom is truly an architectural masterpiece, with tall ceiling height and equipped with amber crystal chandeliers to reflect the Victorian style banquet hall that will leave you in ecstatic state upon seeing it.
New Restaurants in Eastern and Oriental Hotel
i) Farquhar's Bar
Farquhar's Bar mainly serves bar staples and classic cocktails with a view of Penang island's waterfront. We loved the leather sofa and stool that gave the bar a classic Gentleman design.
Looking closely, Farquhar's Bar offers the slight view of scenes in Kingsman the movie.
ii) Java Tree
You may savour Penang's finest Nyonya recipes and classic European cuisine in Java Tree. There is a selection of wines and beverages too.
iii) Palm Court
Palm Court is the F&B outlet in Eastern and Oriental Hotel that serves Penang's ethnic Asian favourites and casual Western staples, as well as E&O time-honoured quintessential three-tiered English Afternoon Tea.
For a more casual dining, you may opt to dine at the corridor.
The Classic Check-in Counter
The classic check-in counter at E&O Hotel Heritage Wing is a scene that many have a connection.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
At the same time during relaunching of E&O Heritage Wing, classic Christmas decorations and a six-metre tall Christmas tree welcomed all the guests in the hotel lobby.
Hotel general manager Alison Fraser said Christmas was a joyous occasion and should be celebrated with loved ones, and she is happy to share the milestone of relaunching of Heritage Wing after months of refurbishment to all attending the ceremony.
