Malaysia is pride of having an array local traditional dishes to the extent that Golden Sands Resort is hosting a Kampung Buffet at Garden Cafe every Friday. Among the local dishes that get showcased in this buffet includes popular local dish kambing guling (roast lamb), special kampung chicken, Executive Chef Rizal's mom home recipe curry snapper, appetising local ulam, fresh salads, and many other mouth-watering specialties. Kampung Buffet casts the spotlight on Malay heartland fare, featuring culinary skills passed down from generation to generation.
Kampung Buffet will be featuring ten stations with different selections for guests to savour, each station is manned by designated chefs who are specialists of respective cuisine and style. Start your dinne here with the appetizers section, featuring fruit acar, preserved fruits dipped in delicious sambal of different variations (local chili paste), salads, preserved fish and etc. Then warm your stomach with a bowl of warm crab soup with celery.
While you are indulging at the pasembur and a range of main courses prepared using the traditional recipe such as ayam rendang minang, stir-fried beef with celery, asam pedas ikan pari dan bendi, udang masak lemak cili padi dan nenas, nasi kuku daun pandan and Mee Goreng Muar or Bihun Sup Kedah, do not forget to venture to the exterior component of Garden Cafe and get those delicious food from roasting station such as lamb on a spit, ayam pasu (chicken cooked in porcelain vases) and grilled seafood.
The chef in Golden Sands Resort also whipped up a colorful and decadent sweet treats to complement an authentic traditional Malaysian feast. Among the local favourite desserts featured are kuih sago merah, bingka pandan, talam jagung, agar-agar sirap bandung dan cendol, puding gula hangus, bahulu and bubur pulut hitam. At the meantime, treat yourself with a bowl of chilling Ais Batu Campur, then sip on the local favourite free-flowing teh tarik and kopi tarik.
The Kampung Buffet is priced at RM 118 nett per adult and RM 59 nett per child on every Friday from 6.30pm to 10.0pm.
