Many Kuching folks would hold high regards at this archaic shop that appeared insignificant for tourists - Sin Lian Shin, as here serves one of the best Kolo Mee in Kuching. The shop get thronged by locals as soon as it begins operation at 6am, all after a bowl of delicious Kolo Mee that features al-dente thin noodles, then topped with red char siew and perfectly seasoned minced meat.
As usual, you can order the Kolo Mee with our without the red char siew sauce. On a personal preference, we always have the sauce added as it introduces a greater depth of nice aroma to the noodles. However, normal variants are equally delicious and you can taste the flavour of the light soy sauce.
A normal bowl of kolo mee cost RM 4, and you can add another RM 2 to have it topped with additional wantan. The wantan is filled with a generous quantity of filling and wrapped with delicate thin skin, which definitely worth the RM 2.
Ovearll, this is probably one of the best Kolo Mee we have tried in Kuching. No regret, and hope it still stays the way it is during our next visit.
