Savour the Beefiest Pho @ Ăn Viet, Gurney Plaza Penang

 One of the best Vietnamese food that we enjoyed thus far is Ăn Viet, which has a branch in Gurney Plaza. Recently, they made a positive change to their signature Beef Noodle aka Pho, resulting a bowl of soup that has rich beef flavour. Truth is we really enjoyed Ăn Viet much to the extent this is the first restaurant we dine in since dining is permissible during MCO! The elevation in taste of the beef soup is attributed to 3 different type of premium beef and beef bones being used to cook it. On top of that, the raw meat served along the noodles also being upgraded to premium ribeye. 

There are 3 options to choose from, namely Vietnamese Beef Noodle Special, Vietnamese Raw Beef & Beef Brisket Noodle and Vietnamese Raw Beef & Beef Ball Noodle Soup. If you enjoy beef, suggest you go for the first option as it has all the elements in the same bowl : handmade 100% pure beef ball, premium ribeye beef, beef brisket, honeycomb tripe and tendon. Well, the best is still the beef soup. Add on some basil and sprouts for another depth of flavour.

Apart of Pho, Ăn Viet also serves a variety of nice Vietnamese dishes. We managed to sample Ăn Viet tasting platter, an appetizer which has Vietnamese fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls, rice paper with green mango salad and sugar cane prawn. This is strongly recommended if you were to try all Vietnamese appetizer at one go.

The Vietffogato is another element that caught us in surprise. It uses the rich Vietnamese coffee then topped with coconut ice cream and rich coconut milk.

As Ăn Viet is a restaurant that advocate Zero Food Waste, you can choose the suitable rice or noodle portion from 100g, 150g to 200g depending on your need. Free top up is available to the 200g if the first 100g or 150g turn out to be insufficient.
