Due to uncertainties for availability for dining during Covid-19, Ixora Hotel Penang has offered both dining and takeaway for their Prosperity 8 Course (RM 1038 / set for 6 pax), starting 11 Jan till 26 Feb 2021. Each set comes with 2 bottles of soft drink and Pu Er Tea, and you will get 1 bottle of house wine for every 2 sets. This can save up your hassle of cooking, while allowing you to gather at home with your close family members during the pandemic and celebrate Chinese New Year 2021 differently. Pre-order of 3 days is needed.
On top of the 8 course dinner, the Prosperity Yee Sang is available to takeaway from Ixora Hotel too, priced at RM 108/set.
The first dish of the menu featuring Chef's Special Combinations, having Gong Bao Chicken with Dried Chili, Deep-Fried Stuffed Taro Dumpling, Chilled King Prawns with Mango Mayonnaise, Stir-Fried Sea Scallops with Macadamia Nuts and Steamed Mushroom Roll with Fatt Choy Egg White Sauce.
Next up is Braised Eight Treasure Seafood Chowder with Sundried Scallops, Fish Maws and Crabmeat. Indeed a pot of luxury with such ingredients.
Follow in th emenu are Cantonese Roasted Duck with Homemade Oriental Barbecue Sauce, then Wok-Fried King Prawns with Fragrant Kam Hiang Sauce. There 2 dishes offer a bolder flavour, much catered to general Penangites' appetite and tastebuds.
Then something lighter is served - Braised Seasonal Garden Greens with Baby Abalone, Sea Asparagus and Freshly Farmed Mushrooms, before being served with Steamed Dragon Tiger Grouper with Araomatic Nyonya Sauce.
In case above dishes still cannot fulfill your large appetite, fret not, as there is Fragrant Fried Rice with Salmon, Prawn and Sundried Scallops Paste.
Lastly, the 8-course meal ended with Doubled-Boiled Sweetened Pear and Snow Fungus with Ginger Root Accompanied with Deep-Fried Golden Sesame Balls with Nian Gao.
