One of the world famous fish and chips outlet - Harry Ramsden has established in Genting Highlands High Line Roof Top Market. The restaurant cum pub offers a casual dining atmosphere to enjoy their signature North Atlantic fish coated in crispy, fresh batter still made from Harry's own secret recipe. Despite the big names, the price of the food here still consider okay and the portion is relatively big too.
The siganture Cod Fish (Regular, RM 42) comes with double-cooked chips and 2 different sauces. Harry Ramsden claimed the fish is cooked fresh to order every single time with no excessive oil dripping from the fish. We enjoyed the light cod fish taste and it goes well with the sauce provided, or drizzling of the lemon is more than enough actually. The flaky skin gives some texturizing to the fish and overall it was very palatable.
Despite being famed for their fish and chips, the Piri Piri Chicken Leg (RM 38) here is equally good. There are some heat components on the chicken skin but somehow the flesh is free from the spicy taste. Fret not though, as the meat is well seasoned. The thigh meat is tender, and it tasted really well. It it served along with double cooked chips and spicy coleslaw.
Harry Ramsden also offers a range of small bites or side dishes. Here we have Harry's Battered Onion Rings (RM 10) and Salt & Pepper Fried Calamari (RM 25).
On top of that, you may try out their signature Laughing Fish Siganture Lemonade or Laughing Fish Rose Remonade. You can order a single (RM 17) or sharing (RM 29 - best shared among 2 to 3 pax). The former taste more on a tangy side while the latter is more on a sweet side. It is a very refreshing drink and the cold weather at Genting Highlands did not hinder us to finish the whole sharing cup.
