The main attraction in Genting Highland ought to be their outdoor themepark and ahem.. their casino too. Well, other than these 2 places, Genting Highlands also has SkyAvenue for you to shop till you drop, or you may spend your time in the indoor theme park or others. The indoor rides are more child-friendly and would be more suitable if you come to Genting Highlands with younger kids.
There are 3 different areas in indoor that you may explore:
a) Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park
b) Sky VR Indoor Theme Park
b) Sky VR Indoor Theme Park
c) Ripley's Adventure Land Theme Park
Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park
The refurbished Genting Highlands Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park offers a total new atmosphere compared to the previous theme park. There are more than 20 rides that can be categorized into family rides, fun rides and thrill rides are conglomerated at a same place spanning across 400,000 square feet, facilitate the distance from going to one ride to another ride.
You can get either 1 day unlimited pass that allow you to enjoy all rides, or go for pay per rides. Most of the rides here have height requirement with some of the family rides required 80cm and above, and must be supervised by guardian.
If you have plan to go for Ripley's Adventure Land, you can go for package ticket that includes Skytropolis 1 day unlimited pass and passes to Ripley's Adventure Land.
Sky VR Indoor Theme Park
We had an enjoyable time in the Sky VR Indoor Theme Park. It offers a whole new experience with a much hands-on VR games. Purchase of a reload card is required and each games cost about RM 20 - RM 25.
Here are some of the VR games available:
RoboCoaster - The 360 degree rotating arm machine makes you feel like you are controlling a fighting robot. Try not to go to the ride with a full stomach, else you risk throw up all the food!
SkyGlider VR - Control a parachute and fly through the check points. Beware of hitting the mountains though.
Vortex - Experience an underwater marine experience
VirtuGlobe and XD Theathre still yet to operational. If you bring along a kid, then you can try the claw machine to get them a mini toy. It was tough too. We spent a lot of money and only get a small mouse.
From this picture you can see how struggled we were to carry a kid around Genting Highlands. She literally indulged in all the games and want to get involved in everything, thenr refused to even take an afternoon nap!
Ripley's Adventure Land
A more leisure and less stress indoor activities would be a visit to Ripley's Adventure Land. There are a number of attractions here including Zombie Outbreak, Jurrasic Research Center, Ripley's Believe It or Not Odditorium, 4D Trick Art Museum, Jungle Gym and Infinity Room. You can purchase the bundle package with Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park, or a ticket that includes all attractions here or pay by single admission.
Compared to the Skytropolis Theme Park, Ripley's Adventure Land is less crowded and more suitable for taking your time slow kind. We only been to the Jurrasic Research Center due to time constraint and the gigantic dinosaur did freak out our little girl though.
Heard the Zombie Outbreak is terrifying too and will freak you out!
