Famous Mango Cheesecakes @ Kula Cakes, Kuantan, Pahang

Kula Cakes is one of big names in serving delicious cakes in Kuantan, Pahang. Locals recommended us to check out the cafe for their delicious Mango Cheesecakes and the other cakes served by the cafe. We were excited to check out the cafe during our visit, but the long and inefficient service by the crews somehow dampened our mood there. Nevertheless, the cakes here are good and left a big impression on our palate, especially the mango cheesecakes.

The shop is located along the prominent Jalan Besar, right in the center of Kuantan town. Its popularity is so immense to the extent that there are 2 dedicated car park lots in front of the cafe, and it is common to see cars double park there just to order cakes here.

However, one need to be extremely patient to wait for your turn to order cakes in the shop. The queue will always be long and the staff is slow in everything, including take the order, preparing the cakes and even allowing you inside the shop. I think we waited for almost 30 minutes for our turn.

Nevertheless, the cakes here are really good. The siganture Mango Cheesecakes (the picture of the mango cheesecake here were taken at Rasa Sayang Cafe) were rich in mango flavour with a silky smooth cheese layer akin like a tofu. Personally, we would prefer a slight tune down of the sweetness level, particularly attributed by the generous quantity of mango puree drizzle.

Another two cakes we had at Kula Cakes were Chocolate Moist Cake (RM 10.90) and Burnt Cheesecake (RM 13.90). These two pieces of wonder cakes easily outmatch the cakes in many renowed cafe in Penang that we have had previously. The cakes taste kept to its core description, like the chocolate moist cakes were rich in chocolate flavour with a nice retention of the moist.

Meanwhile, the burnt cheesecake also has a charred crust and soft cheese layer that makes it these cakes so irresistible. It was a good bargain with that pricing.

On the other hand, the beverages here are disastrous though. The coffee and chocolate were both made from instant powder and should be skipped if you are here.
